wonderful -- there is so much going on here metaphorically and cross-culturally --take away the broom and by the sweeper's stance, the drapery, and the arms, she becomes a classical Greek figure, normally alabaster but here with brown skin and colorful fabric - -- -- even the columns are here though none Doric, Ionic or Corinthian . And then the broom - so incongruous to a goddess figure.. carey adams
One of your strongest portraits, Mo -- the subject is placed off to one side, the broom echoes the edges of the column, the color is gorgeous, the gesture full of grace and gentleness. You express both place and character in a single image. Beautifully done.
