Great image and I also like Phil's excellent comments. This scene looks very normal in Beijing and people tend to ignore it. But when it appears in your gallery, it stands out strongly.

This is the most striking image in this gallery because of how you use both form and color to express the beauty and symbolic meaning of the subject. You have really abstracted the Forbidden City here down its essence, and made it incongruous by giving two versions -- real and reflected. The human values are obvious -- a sense of timelessness, wealth, power and beauty all come through. In the end, it is the soft quality of the light and the rich deep colors of old China that make this picture what it is. An Iconic image.
