On Thursday, September 28th, Deb and I took Geisha and Ziggy to an excellent veterinarian in Ciudad Quesada (Dr. Jorge Rodriguez) to be neutered. They're about to reach seven months of age and this was the time to perform the operation for maximum benefit, particularly for Geisha. The operations went very smoothly. Geisha and Ziggy were a bit groggy the same day but are now as rambunctious as ever. All the Ticos that have a glimpse of Ziggy's formaldehyde preserved testicles think I'm nuts. Am I? I enjoy anatomy, that's all. :)
Costa Rica has a serious problem with stray dogs all over the country. All the time I hear about dogs getting poisoned to death. Apparently this is the Tico solution for the dog overpopulation. Spaying my dogs was my way of being part of the solution, not contributing to a serious problem.
