I thought the little critter had gone after I took the earlier photo of it, but it continued to dart among the mandevilla leaves, keeping an eye on me while snacking on ants and leafhoppers (like the eventual meal above the tip of the lizard's tail.

It didn't look as though anything interesting would be going on, so I put the camera back in the house and came back outside to move the roses - just in time to see the lizard on the mandevilla blossom with the assassin bug (see previous photos) in its mouth.
