There were several Oradour residents that did not go to the forced assembly.
These "lucky" people escaped the massacre:
Mme. Auzanet, Jeanine Rénaud, Maria Robert, Marcel Belivier, Martial Brissaud, M. Crémoux, Hubert Désourteaux, Paul Doutre, M. Litaud, Armand Senon, Joseph & Maurice Beaubreuil, Robert Besson, Martial Machefer and Aimé Rénaud.
Many others, who were hiding within their homes, were killed by the SS when they were discovered....
