T.S.O.P.

"TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)" was a 1974 number one hit, and winner of the 1974 Grammy for Best R&B Instrumental Performance, by MFSB (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother) featuring vocals by The Three Degrees.
It was written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff as the theme for the American musical television program "Soul Train".
The single was released on the Philadelphia International label, and it was considered by some critics to be the first disco song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Philadelphia and bells and such sort of go together - as hazy commercial versions of Americana culture would have it. The strict history is a little unclear to me but I like this picture ... and I certainly remember the old hit. Great post. BBV
