Built in 1471 on 12th century fondaitons by Etienne Le Loup.

The Château du Clos Lucé is located 400 meters from the Royal Château d'Amboise. Château du Clos Lucé was bought by Charles VIII on 2 July 1490 and was a royal residence and summer residence of the kings of France for 200 years.

In 1516, Leonardo Da Vinci was invited to come and live in Château du Clos Lucé by King François I. He spent his final 3 years of his life here and died in 1519.
