It’s been a couple of years since my last visit to Off The Tracks but very little has changed in the interim. It still has that cosy, intimate feel with all the lovely old farm buildings around the central courtyard area. There was the usual excellent and extensive choice of real ales on sale plus more in the way of ciders than I recall being the case previously, which went down well with the top value venison baguettes from the Oak Room cafe.
On stage we had polished performances from Osibisa and Transglobal Underground, both of whom were making welcome returns to celebrate the festival’s 21st birthday. I also thoroughly enjoyed the set from The Hang Project in the Chill Barn. Their haunting sounds were perfect for a relaxing Saturday afternoon and their CD also represented £5 well spent.
On Saturday evening a good few made the effort to don their fancy dress and the introduction of a silent disco in the main barn building meant that many could dance into the small hours without disturbing the neighbours or the late night acoustic jamming sessions in the bar.
