Hohes Schloss and Monestary

Füssen, Germany

"Hohes Schloss" (High Castle), the former summer residence of the prince bishops of Augsburg.
Below the Castle is the Baroque complex of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Mang, whose history goes back to the 9th century.
Füssen has Saint Mang (Magnus of Füssen) as its patron saint. His original burial place was in the small chapel he built. His bones were transferred to the crypt of the church built in 850.(Source: Wikipedia)

Incredible image! The castle is so picturesque as is the background scenery. Somehow, I imagine this in the Sound of Music, even if that was in Austria. A very definite Wow image and gallery worthy masterpiece Tom. ~VVV~

I visited Füssen twice in my life and I was deeply impressed. This photo brings back memories and it is so beautiful with the nicely colored leaves and the wonderful mountains in the background. Gorgeous image, Tom!
