Schloss Schwerin

Schwerin, Germany

Photographing the Palace was very difficult. Major parts were
under renovation and it was hard to get a shot without a scaffold or a construction crane.

Schwerin Palace is nicknamed Neuschwanstein of the North.
It is situated on an island in the city's main lake, the Schweriner See.
For centuries the palace was the home of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and later Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Today it serves as the residence of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament.

You overcame the difficulties very successfully, where we could not, during our all-too-brief visit. The whole gallery is exquisite.

The railing is the perfect lead in to this great scene.
The light is lovely and the detail is abundant.
You found a great point of view with construction going on.

Love how the light on the central cupola really brings out the gold, blue, green.

Visiting famous places only to find them under restoration and scaffolding all over is the story of my life. You did an admirable job here capturing the impressive architecture and color despite that. ~BV~

seems a highly decorative design, certainly attractive...a fine image with the visual constraints you mention..

Great shot of this fantastic palace Tom. Great details and you composed this well. Amazing that the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin were able to build this considering how poor t the area was. "V"
