Breeding Area

Eiderstedt

We came upon a shared breeding area of
Black-headed Gulls (Chroicocephalus ridibundus/Lachmöwe)
and Arctic Terns (Sterna paradisaea/Küstenseeschwalbe).
It was difficult to take photos the parents considered
us a threat and attacked.

Another wonderful shot -- hope you didn't take any direct hits!!
Fascinating how all gull babies look similar -- until their final plumage appears.
