COL Sanders (Kentucky Fried Chicken Founder)

... Col Harland Sanders and my daughter, taken in 1980 at his house shortly before his death.

Harland Sanders was a real person – a man who in the 1970s was one of the world’s most recognizable celebrities. At age 65, with only a sixth-grade education and a $105 Social Security check, Sanders turned a Southern restaurant into a multi-million dollar global chicken empire. By 1976, he was ranked as the world’s second most recognizable celebrity after Muhammad Ali. Sanders died at age 90.

Great shot. I remember in the mid 70's we had taken our students to the Alamo for a field trip, when there was a commotion by the front door. Students were rushing to see Col. Sanders and his white limo infront of the Texas shrine. It certainly put history into perswpective! Lol!

Great picture! Thanks for pointing it out for me, Tom. His face must be one of the most iconic in the currently globalized world. KFC are doing extremely well in China.
