TET Offensive

For those of you who were there, the famous TET offensive occurred on the 31st of January, 1968 ... 41 years ago ... so long ago but, for many, just yesterday.

The past w.ar marked our life...I know the Asia ,I think we are not well in our baskets ,as we say in France. With Germany today that seams well but we are not the same....Only we are all Humans, different ,so proud of our root, our truth...
This picture is so well captured ,a long story is included in the lookings.V

The media would turn a stunning victory into defeat. Ironically Tet '68 was the beginning of the end.

Tom,
I remember it well. Two of us were wounded (minor in both cases) and 3 killed on an 8-man recon patrol. It was a pivotal point in the war, which seems like a lifetime ago, as it was. Thanks for the attention your gallery brings to the people, places & things. They are too important to be forgotten.

I never went there. When i went with a friend to sign up at the US Embassy in Manila it was four months after the draft ended, but i do remember this magazine edition.

I had two brothers in Nam. One of them came back pretty messed up.
Very powerful image Tom. I, too, thank you and honor you for your strength and courage.

I remember. I knew a couple of guys older than I but they were there so my family kept tabs on everything. Towards the end, I had friends who went to Nam who are still haunted by this war. This image is very powerful! Your strength and courage to fight is highly respected by me and so many others. Hanoi Jane can kiss my rear end! I still don't like that woman!
