This is a Hammarlund SP-600 JX general coverage short wave receiver.
The early JX-1 receivers did not get the "-1" in the designator, and the plate on this radioo jsut says "JX" so I assume it is an early JX-1. That would make it about a 1951 production.
The Hammarlund SP-600 was made from 1951 to 1972.
