I thought it was a little water snake- they tend to aggressive when confronted.. my son tried to pick it up and get it out of the road. But, nice to see pictures and confirm that it isn't dangerous since it did bite him.

Thanks so much for posting these photos helped me and my husband identify the baby Nortern Water Snake that he found in our backyard. I love snakes but am relieved that it isnt poisonous.
