I have just photographed a bird with a white head seen today in my daughters front garden. I have no idea what it is and would like to upload a photo of it.

Just love your photographs of birds! They are not only helpful for identification, but enjoyable in how you capture the character of each bird. Thank you so much.

We have uploaded your photo of the english country mansion to use on samples to give brides an idea of how our product can be used. Can you please let us know the name and location of this building as we would like to do a mock up wedding invite and there is always some clver person who would correct us if we put the wrong name.

Beautiful travel photos. you know you should really make an album in this site and show people (friend, family, etc ) where you get to travel...
www.trekinu.com ...

like this gallery:
http://www.trekinu.com/viewtrek.aspx?trkid=mquiko5rgn2bbjt

its free and you can share with us the places you traveled to on the map. takes 3-4 minutes...
(this is NOT a site to replace PBASE, it's for sharing albums with music and send to friends and share here with your photos)

Fabulous bird photos Gary. I am a science teacher in North Yorkshire and stumbled across them while trying to find some good, clear images for my year 7s (11-yr.olds) to use to help them to identify birds visiting their garden. Having found your photos I can't really see why I would need to go elsewhere! The intention would be to put them into an activity on our school website. As a result I am writing to ask your permission to use the images. I am obviously happy to credit you if wish.
Many thanks

Great gallery Gary.
It's rare that I can keep looking right back to the origins of a persons craft but you my friend have arrived long time since.fantastic captures, of all subjects, an inspirational portfolio.Your eye for subtle nuance intrigues me.From the stock photos to the wildlife and beyond. A truely captivating experience. Thanks for the distraction.

Mr. GARY MARTIN

Dear Mr. Martin:

Greetings!

The Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan Citizens’ Development Initatives, Inc. (KAAKBAY CDI), a multidisciplinary non-government organization, will once again be participating in the 2nd Philippine Bird Festival organized by the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) on September 22-23, 2006 at the Crossroad 77 Convenarium at 77 Mother Ignacia Avenue corner Scout Reyes Sts., Quezon City.

The 2006 Philippine Bird Festival, which banners the theme “Endemik: Dito lang sa ‘Pinas,” will celebrate the diversity of bird species uniquely found only in the Philippines through exhibits, lectures, video presentations, coloring and drawing activities, story-telling and bird-watching sessions.

As one of the participating NGOs, KAAKBAY CDI will be showcasing its Kaakbay sa Kalikasan environment and wildlife conservation projects through the following undertakings:

1. Exhibit on Candaba Swamp as an Important Bird Area (IBA):

A. Swamp Rangers for Candaba Swamp and Wildlife Conservation and Ecotourism Project which won in the 2006 World Bank Development Innovation Market Place Panibagong Paraan, and is now being undertaken in partnership with the Philippines Australia Community Assistance Program of the Australian Aid for International Development (PACAP-AusAID), and

B. Candaba Swamp and Wildlife Pictures and Brochure which was nominated as one of the Finalists of the 2005 Catholic Mass Media Awards under the Public Service Print Ads category.

2. Continuous screening of Wings in the Water – the Birds in Candaba Swamp, a short video documentary which was one of the Official Entries in the 2006 Moonrise Festival of documentary films about the Philippine environment, culture and social issues. This video was nominated in the Best in Cinematography and Special Citation on Lakes and Rivers categories.

3. Forum on the Philippine Wild Duck Anas Luzonica, an initial round table discussion on the profile, description, status, legal protections, and available research and studies about the already declared “endangered/vulnerable” Philippine Duck towards the eventual organization of a nationwide network of NGOs, LGUs, Academe, Business and other stakeholders for its monitoring and conservation.

In view thereof, may we ask your permission to use the attached pictures that you have taken on the Philippine Wild Duck Anas Luzonica for the forum and the program’s brochures, posters, tarpoulines, stickers, t-shirts, buttons, caps, websites, emails, letters, video and other campaign and advocacy materials and paraphernalia. We assure you that these materials will only be use for information and educational purposes and not for commercial use, and that you will be properly credited and acknowledged as the photographer. Please let us know of your particular requirements and other limitations on the use of your photographs should you allow us to use the same.

The forum will be held on September 23, Saturday, from 2:00 to 4:00pm, at Session Room 1 of the Crossroad Convenarium. We are inviting a small group of environmental and conservation NGO leaders, professors and students from various universities, private sector officers with environmental CSR programs, and LGU representatives with areas being flocked by Philippine Ducks to attend and participate in the said forum.

We are also inviting you and your networks to participate and support the forum and the 2nd Philippine Bird Festival on September 22-23.

We are looking forward to your favorable response.

Very respectfully,

ALAIN DEL B. PASCUA
Executive Director

Fabulous galleries, Gary. I'm studying Ornithology here in New Jersey, US, and some species that we don't have here, I'm getting to know through your pictures. Thanks so much for sharing. You really, really have a way with capturing birds.

Hi Gary

I was googling for Niguelas, where we have recently bought a place. You had some great photos of the village and surrounding Lecrin Valley. What camera / film did you use?

Could we put one of your pictures on our website, www.lemones.com? Obviously we would mention your name.

Many thanks,
Richard Lark

Gary, I love your images on your PBase site! Your work is extrodinary. As for your question on my imagehttp://www.pbase.com/image/28046012 and whether I panned or P&S, I most of the shots that day were pans since I found the Snow gees's movements too fast any other way.
