Overlooking Lochnagar

Very similar to previous post of this view, but I am in the process of updating my camera and fortunately a friend at work loaned me his 7D for the weekend. I am struggling with the question of full frame or not.

Canon EOS 7D
1/13s f/11.0 at 55.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

you can make beautiful shots with both, but as for now i prefer the 5dmII over the 7d by own experience. People may argue what they want, I know what i see myself.

The composition from this location has worked really well with the trees bottom right balancing the slopes of the hill on the left and you have gained sufficient elevation to get a good separation between the corrie and lower hills below. There is also a lovely zig-zag flow through the image along the valley floor, up through the trees and then into the corrie (then perhaps back left through the clouds). This encourages the eye to roam about over this fine landscape. With crisp clear air and the sun on the snow covered crags you have caught the essence of Deeside in spring. As to the camera, it is difficult to tell. A side-by-side comparison with an image taken on your Rebel at the same time would be needed for comparison.

I can't appreciate full frame fully from this resolution, but this shot goods good with good range of detail from valley to mt tops

Well done landscape.

PS - go full frame, you won't regret it.
