Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada

The Cabins

There are 2 Rock Cabins in the Valley of Fire State Park, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's. The Cabins were built using native sandstone, and they were built to shelter weary travelers.

Very lovely image. It looks very lonely!

Remarkable, Jim.
Very fine B/W work here.
Quite a departure...

Beautiful details and composition. I would only worry about animals and snakes inside.

Most interesting and how thoughtful to build
cabins for weary passers by.
Giving accommodation away for free today,
they would be locked up in an institute
for the mentally insane.
A fine quality photograph Jim

The b&w really works well here, giving a sense of being old. Fascinating image, Jim!
