Lake Louise

I stopped three times on our way today to get some shots, this was the third stop. Lake Louise has been photographed over and over and over and over again... so I wanted to get a slightly different angle on this very photogenic lake. Please let me know what you think of my choice for this place.

BTW, we traveled about 450 miles today with a very finicky transmission; all the way to Trail, British Columbia. Many times we had to stop to rest our poor worn out Ford Expedition so it could recuperate and continue the journey. We're keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed and our prayers aimed toward a final stretch tomorrow all the way home! Right now we're more than half way there.

Nice brooding weather with good foreground interest.
You'll have to go back in Jan and shoot from the Icy lake surface, as you have seen

Have you visited Johnston canyon waterfalls?

I love the composition of this shot Jim.
I also like the red boats against the dark landscape and that dark moody sky, wonderful.

I agree with the others, Jim, this is brilliant!
That dramatic sky helps too :)

The composition is awesome Jim, The boats obviously, with No 47 prominent, the logs, the mountains and the sky. Well done.

Marvelous shot, Jim. The wide-angle distortion of the canoes and driftwood in the foreground really make the shot.

I think this composition is brilliant. It is not the same photo that we see over and over. It shows your skill as a photographer.
