A Boy and His Hexar

My son, a few weeks ago, on one of our Thursday evening photoshoots.
Regardless of his desire for a Leica Digilux (wonder where he got that I idea..)he will have to shoot film for a year. But, honestly, the Hexar isn't leaving the house...unless Hal wants it!!

Since Hal shot Leicas before he went to SLRs, I was pretty sure the language would be familiar.
Those who don't have no way of knowing how crazy we are about the gear.

I regret I'm lost in all that tech talk. (lots to learn) But the shot is one of great consentration and indicates a good father/son bond. Look forward to seeing the close up of the Wysteria perhaps!

the Konica Hexar is a sweet autofocus fixed lens, with a 35 mm lens of the same design as the Leica summicron 35/2.0 fourth version.
The lens is scalpel-sharp, and a great camera body is underneath.
Auto focus and film advance, leica quality glass, and used, you can get them between 400-600 US...
One of the best deals going.

This is one of those Stand-Out photos that will always be very special to you Michael.
He is holding the camera like a pro.
The camera looks like an "M" series and the name certainly sounds Leica-ish.
Like their Elmar, Summar and Summitar.
So Hexar suggests a Leica lens with 6 elements. And the quality of the lens closely matches that of the Summicron 50mm F2. An illustrious comparison.
The Hexar is definitely "collectable" but who would dream of depriving
this budding Henri Cartier-Bresson of his tool of the trade ?
