We heard this submarine followed us across the Pacific Ocean to this 4 hour stopover in Okinawa. Can you even imagine all the carnage happening here only 21 years before I took this picture. The Battle of Okinawa was the largest amphibious assault during the Pacific campaigns of World War II. It lasted from late March through June 1945.
