This place is for the birds, and a few mammals also

These are a few birds that visit my yard over time. It has been a great year for raptors..........and even a few turkeys.

Once in a life time was the visit by a leucistic red tailed hawk to the yard. Leucism is relatively unusual in birds, and albinism is rare. From 2000-2006 Project Feeder Watch participants reported fewer then 1000 luecistic birds. Given that participants report about 5.5 million birds each season, the percentage of luecistic birds being reported is very small
