First Osprey release

On June 10,2010 we got 5 calls on this bird down in Weyauwega Wisconsin. The first one came from Scott Bleck. The second one from the Wega police, the third from WI DNR at Wautoma, the fourth from a concerned citizen walking her dog and the fifth from a county worker.

She was on the ground under the nest site. We took her to the local vet and he found a single shot in her left wing. The next day we took her to our vet in New London, Jim Ziegler at Wolf River Vet Clinc and took more x-rays. Dr. Jim determined the shot was old and that what brought her down was some sort of blunt trauma to the head.

She was unstable, tippy and not with it.
