Hi there, There is a family of chipmunks living around our house. I call each one Chippy. My kitchen is called' Cafe du Chippy'. Twice a day a put nuts of different kinds at the entrance of our door and we see one of them running fast, with the tail up to get them. I have done some work outside and one (I don't know when is one of the others) watched me for a long time, once from inside the plastic gutter, just poking out its head out. Another day it poked its head out of stack of gutter ends. One time it came so close to me and we just looked at each other intensely. I paid attention to the details of the stripes, the fine perfect ears, the pink nose...ah! what a work of art from nature...what a jewel... Thanks for your work. Marvelous. Best to you and to all. Thank you for the beautiful photos of chipmunks. They made my day! Ever since I was a boy on our cattle ranch here in British Columbia, I've loved chipmonks. When we fed our horses oats, many would fall on the ground. The chipmunks loved this! ...and they gave me many hours of entertainment!

We love chipmunks and they have provided us with many years of "live" entertainment in our yard. My Tebetian Terrior Princess could never catch one no matter how hard she tried!

These pictures are wonderful. Did anyone out there know that some people in parts of Western Pennsylvania call them grinnies? They look like they have a full grin on their face when their cheeks are packed.

Terrific images. I'm not a huge fan of chipmunks (despite bearing a common name, in part). They are, afterall, just mice. Despite being cute they are vermin. But you've captured them very well.

Actually, most of the chipmunk photos were taken when the chipmunk was only 10-20 feet away!

Hi Steve, nice gallery. lovely pictures. make me smile :) looking at the focal length u use, the chipmunks should b quite a distance away. love the bokeh u created. u must have a lot patience shooting them (with camera of cos).
