The persisitent little sub-adult male COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD was present and active at the Vasona Park this morning; he forages in and defends the patch of flowering sage on the southwest side of the bridge, and perches in two sycamores, the one directly ahead as you cross the bridge from east to west, and the larger one on your left (south) after you exit the west end of the bridge -- all this in the face of constant attacks from Anna's Hummingbirds, including a male defending the sage patch on the northwest side of the bridge.
