TRYING TO ENDURE THE HEAT

Fort Worth, TX

This homeless man was sitting on the stoop with all of his belongings in a cart. It was so hot and he was taking a rest to try to endure the heat. Let's not forget the ones who have no home and air conditioning and do what we can to make their day a little better. A nice big bottle of cold water and a sandwich helped this man today but what is in store for him tomorrow?

You have captured his plight magnificently Cindi. There but for the grace of God go any of us.I won't pretend to know the hardship a man like this endures, but I bet being looked in the eye without judgement for once and a kind word..and a sandwich, would make the world a better place.

No matter what community, they are with us. Once proud people, we are each just a few hard times away from this. More that we take for granted, comfort and full bellies.
Thanks for reminding us of what we have and take for granted.

no matter what the climate, living rough is hard, especially the older one gets.

How powerful and touching. I always feel so bad for them. They are the unloved. V

Great shot, Cindi. Yes, we take far two many amenities for granted. I like the two signs in this photo which really go with the story it tell. "Slow": Indeed, one takes it slow on a hot day. "Guests may park in spaces marked visitor": Don't know if his cart is "parked" properly, but he sure is a visitor.

Its a tough world , If he was over here he would have been getting very wet over the last couple of days , we need to remember how lucky we are...

Thank you for such a powerful shot and reminder. Remembering the same here in Nashville, too ... our heat index is supposed to hit 97 today and even hotter this weekend. In addition to the homeless, we have the CMA fans in town for fanfare and even they are not immune to heat-exhaustion (several reports already). I'll be walking and shooting around lunchtime today and will also be downtown tomorrow to shoot - bringing lots of water for me and others.

No guesses from where the water and sandwich came - you're a lovely lady! You have again captured a very sad scene.

This is an excellent capture of this street scene, Cindi! He looks dejected and down-trodden. \/
