I found out tonight that a dear, dear friend of mine passed away last Sunday. Dave was a kind and gentle soul, had a heart that was as big as Texas and was loved by so many including myself. I've known Dave for over 20 years and we dated for a little while but decided that we made better friends. He has always held a very special place in my heart. What is so ironic is that Dave was an avid fisherman and in two weeks would have been going out to Lake Hawkins where my sister lives for a fishing tournament with all the guys I have known for years. In two weeks, I'll be joining all of the guys to spread his ashes into Lake Hawins, the lake he loved so much and loved to fish on. And, this is the same lake I go to all the time to hang out with my sister and her husband. I found this shot that I took back on Memorial Day weekend at Lake Hawkins with two fishermen in a boat. I thought that this was the perfect image to dedicate to Dave.
To Dave, I'm going to so miss your smile, your beautiful smile that would light up the room. You meant a lot to me and I'm very saddened by your passing. Life goes by so quickly and today made me realize once again, how truly important each moment we have been given to live. As my tears fall as I write this, just know I love you and always will. Goodbye, my dear friend.
