ARMADILLO

Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Texoma, TX

Joanne Kamo posted a pic yesterday of this critter and today I was lucky to see this one. Joanne, I think you gave me some luck! Been looking for one that's alive for years!

Cindi, I just read this LOL when browsing your galleries. I'm glad you were able to find one that's alive..an excellent shot..so hard to get them with their heads out of the grass!

All you have to do is come to my yard.....they love rooting around in my mulch.....interesting critters. I chased one across the yard one day and caught it. didn't hold on long.....Nope!

Great shot of the fellow, I've tried too 'shooting' them when in their habitat and know the difficulty you express.

Ever since I learned they experimented with these for years at the Hansen's Disease hospital in Louisiana I have been leery of them. The building where they did the testing even has a facade that looks like an armadillo shell.
