Mellisuga helenae
Perhaps the most famous of Cuba's birds, being well known for its claim to be the world's smallest bird (although the Vervain Hummingbird of Hispaniola and Jamaica runs it a close second). It is another specialty of the Zapata region; we observed a regular pair at the entrance to the Bermejas woodland.
