Sturnella magna hippocrepis
This subspecies is endemic to the main island of Cuba, the Isle of Pines, and Cayo Romano. It is perhaps most easily found in certain areas of the east and centre of the main island, but it is widespread and virtually any area of suitable habitat, rough grassland, may harbour the species. S. m. hippocrepis is sometimes touted as a potential split from other populations of Eastern Meadowlark, but a comprehensive review of the species across its range is really needed to prove or disprove that theory.
