This is a beautiful portrait. Are these all crops or were you using a medium format camera? The expression is lovely but for me it's all about the composition--patterns and colours. I love the brown/maroon contrasted with the desaturated aquamarine at the back right, the contrast between the vertical lines of the planks and the tesselation behind the subject, and the off centre positioning works perfectly as well. Great sharpness too, so none of the atmosphere and character is wasted. great work. v
