Enjoyed site. I went aboard VIRGO July 1969 as SA in 2nd division. Stayed with her until decommissioning. Left as YN3 working in ship's office. I am in contact with Bernie Smith, PN2 who was probably on VIRGO when you were aboard. He is suffering neuological problems he believes was brought on by exposure to agent orange transported on VIRGO. If you have any knowledge of agent orange being aboard please let me know. I served on CHARA AE-31 after VIRGO decom, and she carried it. I haven't been affected. VIRGO had great crew and always pleasure to hear from shipmates. Sincerely, Rick McConnell (AKA Mac)

Thank you Tom, for bringing back the memories. My husband was in the Navy.
If I can figure out how to use the camera that goes with the computer I will
try to send you some recent pictures. I am certainly not the skinny girl I was
in school. My husband says, that I was a "late bloomer", as he thought I was a
knockout at 21. I will be in touch. It was nice to hear from you.
