keyhole_nebula region

This "WIDE" 18'X18' is the full frame of the 1 meter telescope at Chilescope showing the center of the Eta Carina nebula.
The well known Keyhole nebula can be seen as the big round structure in the center.
The less known companion is the Homunculus Nebula - the smaller Reddish flower seen just to the Left of it.
This nebula is so bright that it appears as a very bright star in astro images.
In order to see this bright nebula - very short exposures of Ha were needed.
These short exposures were superimposed on the "normal" exposures to produce this HDR like image.

Chilescope 1 Meter at F6.8
Total exposure of about 1 HR Ha filter.
Color - 16" F8 Hypergraph telescope.
