Purchased new in April 1994,it proved to be a WONDERFUL bike.It never let me down,in just over two years and 103,000 miles.I changed the engine oil every 2,000 miles,air filter very regularly.Drive chain lasted 50,000 miles.All bearings were replaced at 51,000 miles,thereafter,no mechanical problems at all.In the end,an electrical fault killed it.I must dig out a 35mm pic of this bike,as on mine,I made a full fairing from old plastic cartons and ForSale signs,gaffer taped to the tank,with an enlarged upper fairing.It looked awful,but was very effective.Memory dulls with age;it did break down.Just once.An electrical fault;a connector came undone and my,then,lack of knowledge of the bike,caused a long time spent outside IWM Duxford,on a bitterly cold February Monday, effecting a return delivery to RAF Cranwell.Incidentally,the driver who took the package off me,later killed himself..A biting wind as I now recall.The cowl could be easily removed,but neither I ,nor the AA patrolman new this.He eventually fixed it,God bless him.NNB:Longest journey from Borth Holiday Camp,north of Aberystwyth to Lever Street, London, EC1 and back, via home.Approx. 500miles.
