I have a fondness for this church building(see,I remembered this time Andy)as I stopped here and enjoyed a much needed rest,in the year 2000,on my long walk for charity.I walked from Collier Row,to Iken,Suffolk,passing as many churches dedicated to St.Botolph,as I could ,along the way.Sounds grandiose,but there are only 64 churches,so dedicated,in the entirity of England.I discovered then,that in the Middle Ages,here at Ridgewell.was conducted a three day fair,each year,around the Feast of St.Lawrence.How the mighty are fallen,as what was once an important place,has become a backwater,comparatively rarely visited now.The church building is now a Listed Building.
