To the rhs of the door is a plaque,which reads,"Dr.Williams's Library,founded 1729,moved to this site in 1890".


NNB:When first I came to London,after failing so dismally at school,I chose London,rather than home,just to get away,I stayed in a hostel affectionately known as "The Caley Club", in the next street east of here.The building then was a hostel run by The Presbyterian Church of Scotland, now owned by a University, on the corner of Endsleigh Gardens.
