Didn't have an invite, so I had to stand far, faaaaaar away from the stage, thus necessitating the need to mount my 28-300mm (f/3.5-6.3!) zoom. Had my flashgun mounted too, but when I fired it, it illuminated the messy foreground and caused harsh shadows behind the models. Had no choice but to switch it off and go with high-ISO settings. Camera with lens + flash = quite heavy, and with no vertical-grip, it was quite awkward whenever I wanted to shoot vertical, almost elbowing people in the face each time I raised the camera. At the end of the shoot, I felt as if my arm was going to get separated from the shoulder. The ergonomics of the D5D does leave something to be desired. Otherwise, it performs reasonably well.
