I have spent a great deal of time lately - with the trip to asia - in temples and incense burning - but this image is the first I've seen that made me think of ashes in the burning of incense. I have mostly paid attention to the smoke and seen that as spirit and prayer washing into the sky - but ash is what remains after the prayers and spirit leave. So, this image moved be beyond its surface into myself - thanks.
