Hi Carol,
I stumbled across your galleries from Phil Douglis'. This image is amazing! You have a gifted eye! The overcast provides a sinister mood that works well with the image. Your use of abstraction is done very well-- it creates an appropriate mood and environment. If you have time, I invite you to take a peek at my online gallery as well. Your comments and critiques would be greatly appreciated!
As I mentioned when I commented on "Almost Anonymous," this image pairs well with it. Once again, a mysterious figure enters your frame. The abstracted person at right is a surrogate for all of us - we enter the frame with her, watching and waiting along with her as she studies the six blurred figures moving about the intersection below her. I love the way each of them moves through space -- no two of them alike. The upper quarter of the picture is a bit distracting -- too bad she wasn't on a lower step so that this relatively simple intersection would have filled the entire frame. But that's the way it goes -- it remains a strong photograph as it is, and one worth pondering.
