This is a fascinating image, Rose. As presented, it certainly does speak of an environmental issue in a particular place called Maxey Park. On the other hand, if you should choose to crop the image just below the man's feet, you would completely changethe meaning to a more universal theme -- the world itself going dry. Leaving just that empty bottle with the vast parched landscape around it would symbolize an issue that goes far beyond just this particular place and this particular time, and expand the disaster exponentially.
Now THAT'S arid land! Amazing texture! Can't imagine how it would be trying to walk on that stuff....whatever you do, don't drop your keys! I like how you used a very wideangle approach here. That empty juice bottle adds a nice touch as well.
