Santiniketan is a University town about 200 Kms from Calcutta in Birbhum
District of West Bengal. This is a typical landscape that used to be in
abundance all over the place forty years ago. But now the town is thickly
populated and this is an artificially planted 'Sal' trees in aforestation
programme undertaken a little diatance from proper Santiniketan.
