Traffic watching*
by Justin Miller

The local city inlet - the connecting 'road' from the intercoastal waterway to the ocean for boaters. Our coastal cities are lined with canals and waterways - we are cities of the sea. There's not much to it - a small parking lot just off the inlet bridge for the tiny marina, and a fishing pier. A true local joint. The dinosaur-age pelicans seem like two old men, watching traffic pass them by, largely ignored by pedestrians and boaters alike. But a tourist to our town would be fascinated by these large approachable beasts and the parade of boats fighting the rush of the ocean tides.

Very refreshing feeling shot; nice color and light, and those pelicans are simply great.

They look more like security guards. Nice shot, Justin!

Really cool shot of these two dudes. The troubled water give it a very wildlife style but the other side of the waterway puts it into perspective.

What a great image, Justin. I love those pelicans checking out the traffic on the waterway!!
