Caution Hot!
by

This is the tungsten filament of a small light bulb.
These filaments can typically reach temperatures of over 3000 degrees F.
To reduce the brightness of this bulb, so I could photograph it, I used a variable transformer to reduce the voltage applied to it.

Thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated! Tabrizi, as for focus lock I don't remember but I probably used manual focus.

How you manage to get the focus locked on this one..?

Amazing shot. You nailed a very difficult exposure and the composition works perfectly. Lora

Wow, really cool shot. I had thought that you must've just used a really fast shutter speed and a small aperture. Your trick worked really well. I think it's great that all the elements are really well exposed, it's a rare look at something we don't normally see.

Nice image bottles!. I appreciate you share the way you took this imaginative photo.

Bottles - this is totally cool (even though the photo was taken under hot conditions). Unique - and above the bar. I'm impressed!
