Cicada Fight Club

One of my favorite shots from the 2004 Brood X invasion. In '08 the 13 Year cicadas will
arrive. I wonder what movie I will be able to parody. In 2021 the 17 and 13 will both be
emerging! I hope I can still hold a camera by then!

Wonderful, creative idea - I love the bright light on the contestants, with the spectators barely visible in the shadows!

pearl, I have a confession. This shot was a set up. All of the "bugs" are not "bugs" at all, but the casings of the cicadas when they first emerge from the ground. I gathered the "shells" and arranged them in this scene.---Deb

I concur. It is amazing that you got this and had the wherewithal to get the light just right. Quite amazing. Are those more cicadas in the background?

Talk about going "head to head". Wonderful action macro, Deb. Has to be one of the best I've seen.
