Hitch Hiker from Hebron
by Deb Kees

Was on my way home from shopping when I noticed this guy(?)on the hood of my truck. At the time, I was going 25-30 MPH, and thought surely once I got on the interstate he would be blown off. He was still hanging on when I pulled into my driveway. I was obliged to take pictures of this survivor.

Great capture of this amazing bug - I love the colors and details that can be seen in the grasshopper!

Thanks, bottles and Jerry! Jerry the texture of the surface came from the flashlight shining on the hood of my metalic blue truck. bottles, glad I'm not the only one taking pictures of "bugs!"

Deb, I had exactly this same experience last Fall. My wife and I had been shopping and as we started home we noticed a grasshopper on the top of the outside mirror. We drove home at speeds of 35 or 40 mph and when we arrived, that grasshopper was still on the mirror! I took it's picture too :-) Nice shot by the way, I like your lighting!

Tenacious little critter, huh? Nice lighting effect and texture in the surface.
