Hi Shay! I find my eye wandering all over the place in this composition. Everything seems to point to a blank white space over the red object in the pasta. The wine glass and bottle lead my eye off the page, and the bread detracts from the pasta, if that is the center of attention. I also agree that the triple shadow under the plate on the table is distracting, although nicely photographed! I agree with you that the plate is misplaced, and perhaps if the pasta is the subject of the photo, the angle you are photographing it at. The fork handle leads to that white space over the "red thing" too yet at the same time kind of leads the eye off the frame lower right. Food photography is an art in itself, expecially in a studio setting. The lighting is nice and crisp and the depth of field nicely managed. --Dee

Shay... there is really nothing wrong with the placement of your plate! What I would recommend is you change the angle of your lighting or add an additional fill source to avoid the shadows on the table in front of the plate. That's my two cents, Mark J :-)
