it is about 18cm diameter and quite thick...about 3to 4 cm so is th knop on top..; thanks for your kind comment, bottles!

Barbara, you come across the most interesting stuff! Yes, I'd guess that this cover is old. It looks like it might be made of some kind of clay and then fired? It's size is a little difficult to tell from the photo but, judging from the boards it's sitting on, I'd guess somewhere between 8 and 12 inches (20 to 30 cm). I like the pattern on the top and that beautiful blue color. Interesting, thanks for sharing this one! You did an excellent job of capturing this object and it's another good entry for the challenge!
