Cat's Eye*
by

I thought that I would just fool around with some new techniques in Photoshop, as I haven't had it very long. I made this picture by creating a duplicate layer, changing the hue and turning up the saturation on it. I then created a mask so the effects were only on the eye. My cat’s original eye colour is green, and a turquoise around the pupil (what is now red).

Thank you very much for the kind comments, this picture was definitely about trying new things in Photoshop. Denise, I suggest you read these articles; they helped me quite a bit with Photoshop.

Stefan: This is a compelling image. I appreciate the upper left to lower right draw which compels me (the viewer) to settle on the eye, in spite of its central location in the image and to move my focus to where I suspect the cat is focussing. The work done on the color makes it subtly stronger. The crop allows me to imagine this to be a dog, which changes its energy significantly when I do it. The image truly involves the viewer, which is what all compelling images do. Nice work. Fremiet
