This man was sitting outside his shop in one of the souqs in Deira, central Dubai. He could see I was trying to surreptitiously photograph him from a distance, so he started posing for me, at one point draping a bolt of fabric over his head. But I really liked this the best -- the way I first found him.

Helen, This photo just grabs you. His expression is as colorful as the clothes he's apparently selling; funny how his own clothes are so drab in color. I agree about cropping out the red cloth at the bottom. Great pic!

Helen, thanks for kicking off the eligible gallery. That is a perfect start with such a great shot. As many times the most natural shot shows to be the best and not the posing scene. Also good to know that the gentleman was comfortable to be photographed. Please allow me one comment: IMHO the picture might be enhanced by cropping the bottom a little to get rid of the red cloth(?). Just a thought to get the focus more on the subject.
