15-MAY-2005 Jessa Forster

1st Place
Storm at the Tracks
by Jessa aka TinyGreenAlien

This is a shot of some buildings from my home town of
Burlington Wisconsin.

Post work: I combined two exposures of the same shot (one
exposed for the clouds, the other for the building), basic
levels sharpening etc. and applied my grunge effect.

Thank you all for your comments! You can see my grunge effect here at my site:http://tinygreenalien.com/techgrunge.htm
Pearl, to be honest when I took the picture I didn't think it was going to be anything special, it wasn't until I put it together on the computer that I started to like it, and then I started playing with different effects. Thanks again! -Jessa

J-like everyone else noted, this is a really wonderful composition. The sky is so ominous. Post processing did add a tremendous amt of value.; We're you looking to do this when you set out to do the sky? P

I love this shot - nice composition, textures and grunge effect! I'd also like to know how you did this.

I really like your PP on this one - gives it a nice punch.

Striking image! The composition is very strong. This post industrial picture with its dark clouds is full of senses. For me, the dark days for these workers are just starting and won’t never end, as the railroad going to the infinity may suppose.
The textures are gorgeous! A powerful talking picture!

I really liked this shot when I first saw it, and I still like it, Jessa. Wonderful composition and effects. Like something out of the 20's or 30's.

This is just wonderful -- great shot, and excellent post-processing. Never knew drab brown and greys could be so colorful!

If I ever should compose music (which is by the way pretty unlikely) and would need a CD cover, that Image would be it. Very nicely done, coooooooooool image
